Winnie the Pooh is not the only one that likes to be close to the hive. Our skin loves honey as well. Few women know that they have the best facial cleansing and conditioning product in the kitchen. What are the qualities of honey?
There are many forms of face cleansing treatments. Some of them are well-known, others – less popular. Most women reach out for ready-made products like exfoliating scrubs, cleansing gels or exfoliating masks. Others go for homemade remedies and DIY products. One of them is honey face treatment.
What is a honey face treatment?
It is a technique of facial cleansing that consists in massaging the skin with honey (mixed with tepid water or hydrolate e.g. rose water).
Natural honey is an unrivalled remedy for skin imperfections. Thanks to anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, honey helps to eliminate as well as heal very severe acne lesions. Honey excellently removes any impurities, deeply moisturises, evens out skin tone and makes skin more resilient.
Who can do honey face treatment?
Honey face cleansing is a great method for:
- people with oily and combination skin,
- people with acne-prone skin,
- people with very dry skin,
- people who like the fragrance of honey!
Honey treatment isn’t recommended for those who are allergic to honey. We are often unaware that we are allergic to this product. In this case, honey facial treatment may have adverse effects.
How to do honey face treatment?
You should wash your face with honey at least once a day, preferably before going to sleep. Honey leaves your face perfectly clean after the whole day. It is far more beneficial to your complexion than artificial cosmetics. Honey can be applied and massaged in the skin in two ways:
- honey diluted with water/hydrolate,
- after you gently wet your face with warm water.
You shouldn’t worry that sticky and sweet honey will be hard to wash down. Contrary to appearances, warm water washes it down easily, therefore you can leave the product a bit longer e.g. as a mask.
